I am a new mom to an active little munchkin, enjoy staying active and ruining delicious dessert recipes by making them healthy 😛
I hold dual designations as a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist.
I have also held teaching and supervisory positions at the University of Toronto and Wilfrid Laurier University.
I have been comprehensively trained in DBT, created by Marsha Linehan, and have spent several years working in a highly specialized DBT team.
I have also provided training workshops to other mental health professionals and students in mental health agencies, hospitals and private practices on the use of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
Additionally, I have received EMDRIA-approved training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR).
I hold a Master of Social Work degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Philosophy and Buddhism & Mental Health from the University of Toronto.
I am a holistic therapist with specialized training in processing trauma. This means that I understand you as a person with varied life experiences and identities. We understand together how these experiences make you who you are today, how we cherish the parts of you that you love and shed the parts that are no longer helpful.
I work from a client-centered approach where your well-being is my priority.
I integrate various evidence-based treatment modalities to help work through mental health struggles. My specialization lies in the use of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma processing.
Additionally, I believe that our mental health is impacted by our identities, such as gender, race, culture, economic struggles, immigration status, and religious and sexual identities, to name a few. As such, I reflect on many of my own experiences as a young immigrant with a bi-cultural identity.
